- OPAQ's Endpoint Control on macOS currently requires a kernel extension, which is used to intercept and monitor traffic.
Starting with macOS Big Sur, Apple has deprecated a number of kernel programming interfaces (KPIs), including the ones used by Endpoint Control.
Our development team has been working on a new version of the Endpoint Agent for macOS, which utilizes the NetworkExtension API included with Big Sur.
The new version of the macOS Agent is currently being validated by our QA team, and will subsequently undergo internal beta testing prior to production release. We anticipate the release of this agent following the Thanksgiving maintenance moratorium (after Dec 1).
Until the new version is released, we advise customers utilizing Endpoint Control not to upgrade to macOS Big Sur.
Additional updates will be provided as they become available.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
